Downloading the Powergate app for your device
You can download the Powergate app on the following links, ensure you select the right app store depending on your device:
How to Pair Your Vehicle to Powergate tuning Kit
1. Connect the Powergate 4 Device: Start by connecting your Powergate 4 device to your vehicle’s OBD-II port using the supplied OBD cable. This port is typically located under the dashboard on the driver’s side.
!!!
Ensuring Safe OBD Reading/Writing Conditions: During this process, it’s essential to take standard precautions for safe OBD reading and writing. This includes ensuring that your vehicle’s battery is stable and maintains consistent power.
2. Connect a Battery Stabiliser: For added security and to prevent any power fluctuations, connect a battery stabilizer to your vehicle’s battery. This step helps to keep the power steady throughout the entire process.
3. Open the Powergate App: On your mobile device, laptop, or desktop computer, launch the Powergate application. Ensure that your device is compatible and has the latest version of the app installed.
4. Register Your Device: If you’re setting up the Powergate 4 for the first time, create an Alientech ID. Once your ID is created, register the Powergate 4 device in the application. This step will enable you to access all available features.
5. Turn On the Vehicle Ignition: Turn the vehicle’s ignition to the “ON” position, but do not start the engine. This step powers up the vehicle’s electronic control units (ECUs) and prepares it for connection with the Powergate 4.
6. Select Your Vehicle: In the Powergate app, choose the specific make and model of your vehicle from the list provided. This will ensure the device can correctly identify and connect to the correct ECUs.
7. Identify the Vehicle: Tap on the “Identify Vehicle” option within the app. This process will allow the Powergate 4 to detect and communicate with your vehicle, verifying the connection is set up and ready for further operations.
Follow these steps carefully, and you’ll be ready to begin using your Powergate 4 for OBD reading and writing with your vehicle.
Reading Your ECU with a Powergate 4
!!!
Ensuring Safe OBD Reading/Writing Conditions: During this process, it’s essential to take standard precautions for safe OBD reading and writing. This includes ensuring that your vehicle’s battery is stable and maintains consistent power.
1. Select the Operation Mode: After the vehicle has been successfully identified by the Powergate 4, you will see three options appear on your screen: ID, Reading, and Writing.
2. Select the “ID” Option: Start by selecting the ID option. This allows the Powergate 4 to establish a detailed connection and communicate directly with your vehicle’s ECU (Electronic Control Unit). This step is crucial as it confirms that the Powergate is ready to proceed with reading or writing data.
3. Proceed to “Reading”: Once the communication with the ECU is established, click or tap on the Reading option. This will initiate the process to read the data from your vehicle. Then, tap on NEXT to move forward.
4. Complete the Reading Process: Allow the Powergate 4 to complete the reading process. The tool will capture and export the reading logs automatically. Once this is complete, tap on Finish to confirm that the reading operation has been successfully concluded.
5. Turn Off the Vehicle Ignition: After the reading process is complete and confirmed, turn the vehicle’s ignition to the OFF position. This will disengage the ECU connection and complete the process.
Exporting Your ECU Data For File Modification
!!!
You can safely remove your power supply during this process if you wish
1. Data Storage on the Cloud Server: Once the reading process is complete, the Powergate 4 device will automatically store your vehicle’s ECU data on a secure cloud server. This ensures that your data is safely backed up for further processing.
2. Send ECU Data to Autotech Tuning’s File Writing Team: The ECU data will then be sent to the Autotech Tuning Files Writing Team. They will review the data and prepare any necessary adjustments or custom files for your specific vehicle.
3. Export of Logs and Data: During this process, the Powergate 4 tool will export the reading logs along with the ECU data to the server. This step completes the upload, making the data accessible to the Autotech Tuning team.
Writing Your ECU with a Powergate 4
1. Receive the Modified File from Autotech Tuning: After the Autotech Tuning team has reviewed and modified the ECU data for your vehicle, they will send the updated file back to you. You will receive a notification on your mobile device or by email once the modified ECU file is ready.

Ensuring Safe OBD Reading/Writing Conditions: During this process, it’s essential to take standard precautions for safe OBD reading and writing. This includes ensuring that your vehicle’s battery is stable and maintains consistent power.
2. Prepare the Vehicle: Head to your vehicle and turn the ignition to the ON position. Ensure the vehicle is ready for file writing by not starting the engine—just turning the ignition to the ON position. Remember to reconnect your power supply as above.
3. Open the Powergate 4 App: Launch the Powergate 4 application on your mobile device or computer. Pair the device with your vehicle once again to establish a secure connection.
4. Begin the Writing Process: In the Powergate app, select the Writing option to initiate the file writing process.
5. Select the Modified File and Mode: You may be presented with various modes of the modified file created by Autotech Tuning.
Choose the option that best suits your needs and tap on the file to confirm.
6. Write the File to the ECU: The Powergate 4 tool will now begin writing the modified file to your vehicle’s ECU. Allow the process to complete fully, as this ensures that the changes are securely applied. Refrain from touching or operating any of your vehicle electronics whilst the writing completes to avoid interrupting the process.
Making Sure Your Write Was Succesful
1. Export the Writing Log: Once the modified file has been successfully written to your vehicle’s ECU, the Powergate 4 tool will automatically export the writing log. This log serves as a record of the process and confirms that the data was written correctly.
2. Turn Off the Vehicle Ignition: Switch the vehicle’s ignition to the OFF position. This will disengage the connection between the Powergate 4 and the vehicle’s ECU.

You can now safely remove your power supply from the vehicle
3. Disconnect the Battery Stabiliser: Carefully disconnect the battery stabiliser from the vehicle’s battery.
4. Remove the Powergate 4 Tool: Unplug the Powergate 4 device from the vehicle’s OBD-II port. Store the device and OBD cable safely for future use.
5. Turn the Ignition Back On and Start the Vehicle: Once the Powergate 4 tool and stabiliser are disconnected, turn the vehicle’s ignition back to the ON position, then start the engine.
6. Check for Dashboard Warning Lights: With the engine running, check the dashboard for any warning lights or alerts. If no warning lights are present, the ECU update was successful. If you see any lights, refer to your vehicle’s manual, consult a professional or contact our team for assistance.
